The U.S. Postal Service is considering a request from grassroots supporters to issue a Wilt Chamberlain postage stamp. The notion was addressed to the USPS by Philadelphia Tribune sports writer Donald Hunt, citing Chamberlain's achievements that rank among greats such as Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Joe Louis and Jesse Owens, who already don commemorative stamps. Chamberlain's sister Selina Gross couldn't agree more, adding that the honor would have been a pleasant surprise to her brother, who died due to heart failure in 1999.

"I'd be very proud if that happens, and I'm sure he would be too, if he was alive," Gross told the Associated Press. "I think he'd be honored and probably wouldn't believe this could happen to him."
